No mans sky oculus quest vr desktop5/22/2023 ![]() I will say that in order to get the game running as good as it could I had to go into the Nvidia Control Panel and tinker with some of the graphics settings. I'm finding that many of the issues i'm having (like dropping back to the steamvr loading screen, some stutter and slow down) are most likely the result of poor game optimization rather than something Shadow related. Update: I played for 3 hours straight last night (until my Quest died) and had what i would call a decent experience. I was about 5 feet from the router and have 200 mbps internet Shadow PC -> Virtual Desktop -> Quest via a 5ghz connection using an eero WiFi mesh network. I’ll be able to do more testing in a few hours and I’ll report back. Not much but it was noticeable when I moved my head too fast. ![]() I also noticed that I could see black bars around the edge of my vision. Game started to render on muh index again with 5700xt. Each time this happened it was only for a split second and then the game resumed. go to User/Appdata/local/openvr and delete openvrpaths.vrpath. I started a new save, and after about 2 minutes on the star loading screen, which is really cool in VR by the way, the game fired right up and I was running around!ĭuring my 30 minutes the only issues I experienced was periodically the game would bring up the steam vr screen that showed the NMS logo with three loading bars underneath. I use HOTUS in E:D but only use the touch controllers in Rebirth. The touch steering is crazy good and SO intuitive. Better than Elite Dangerous as well and I have over 1000 hours in each VR sim. I was only able to play about thirty minutes before the family came home but I was able to launch the game right from steam vr. On the CV1, the flight controls in X Rebirth using the touch controllers are excellent. If anyone gets this far thanks for your time and any help you can offer. And it ran better than it had any business running! Thank you shadow team for making this possible - I love what you guys are doing! In vr edition when I dock is everyone just standing around that central area I saw a couple videos online of people running thru the station but it doesn't seem like that's doable in the vr edition. Right now I think I can do everything I need to do to be able to play the game but stick steering would sure be nice. Turning in room-scale is not fully tracked yet and the HUD remains stuck to a fixed forward direction. The game seems designed primarily for seated play. Note: This section is under development. If you find controls that made your VR experience more pleasant, please add them. I really just need to figure out how to get the sticks to get picked up then I would be in business. Virtual Reality Controls lists controls and best practices for VR players. I've gone into the inputmap.xml and switched the roll and yaw commands so that the stick acts like a hotas and twist is yaw instead of roll. I can activate gesture steering and fly around and if I click the left stick it also acts like it's a track pad. Once loaded into the game the sticks still do not function even if I pick the community controller mapping. I can click in the right stick and it acts like it's the vive trackpad and let's you select things and get the game going. This will effectively use the resolution for the 'VR Graphics Quality' setting from Virtual Desktop. Make sure your Render Resolution is set to 'Custom' and it is set to 100. If I start steam vr in virtual desktop and then start the stream version I load into the game but the sticks don't work. Launch Steam VR from Virtual desktop, on your PC desktop, click the burger menu and then select Settings. If I try to launch thru virtual desktop I get an error. I just tried air link and launching the Oculus version of the game and while the sticks work for bindings the game glitches and does some weird things in the headset. The frame rate is still hard to lock down and some find the compromise in graphics required. This guide does help, but it doesn't totally erase the issues. Method 2: Run the Oculus and SteamVR Installation program. One thing the majority of the commenters agree on is that the PC version of No Man's Sky VR performs terribly no matter what your specs are. Method 1: You’ll need both a VR-ready PC/Laptop and 5G Wi-Fi to connect the Oculus Quest 2 system and the laptop. I'm playing with a quest 2 thru virtual desktop. Another useful tip is turning off Anti-Aliasing. So I picked it up during the steam sale and I've tried playing and I've got a few issues. It’s nice to see the intention behind the SP1 return with this collaboration, but we still miss the knobs from it. The original Pioneer DJ accessory controller of this form factor was actually the Serato-oriented DDJ-SP1 – which made it possible for so many DJs to access lots of great functionality without replacing their core setup. The powerhouse duo that is Pioneer DJ making hardware and Serato making software isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. We first got a sense of this when the DDJ-1000SRT was announced earlier this year, but this new collaboration makes it clear that the earlier release wasn’t a one time thing. But this new XP2 release makes it pretty clear that that isn’t happening. It’s been easy to imagine a future where Pioneer DJ and Serato go separate ways.
